The making of an album...meet the cast! 11/22/2010
![]() In the spring I began a huge undertaking. The recording of my first full length CD. Bringing together the amazing talents of some of most favorite and most talented musicians this city has to offer, we arrived at David Lange's studio and recorded 12 tracks in one day. ![]() I was truly thrilled to be playing with my long time musical friends, Eric Verlinde and Chuck Kistler. Eric has been playing piano with me for as long as I have been singing jazz and has been instrumental in the arrangement and development of many of the songs that I sing, including all of the songs on this album. Chuck Kistler played with Eric and I every Wednesday for 3 years at the Whisky Bar and also played a big role in how these tunes evolved over the years. ![]() From the time I first played with Clark Gibson, when he first arrived from Denver, I fell in love with his playing. The deep edge and soulful grit of his horn playing was exactly what my ears wanted to hear. I knew from day one that he was the horn player I wanted when I was ready to record. I am so greatful that I was able to have Clark on this project before he left Seattle for Chicago. I hope he'll be able to come back for a visit for the CD release party! ![]() Jeremy Jones brings an infectous energy and creativity to his playing and I have always felt incredibly inspired by his artistry. I feel truly lucky to have gathered such an all star cast for this project! Stay tuned for further developments....
